Henderson Animal Care Hospital now offers a DeShedding Treatment!

What is it?

A deshedding treatment is a special way of grooming and bathing that can remove your pet’s undercoat to allow for more air circulation without damaging the hair or exposing the skin to more cancer-causing sun rays.

What do we do?

  1. We start with a special shampoo that we massage into the deeper layer of the hair coat to help loosen hair follicles.

  2. We follow with a special moisturizing conditioner to make your pet’s coat shiny and smooth.

  3. We blow dry the coat. This also stimulates the hair follicles to release.

  4. We use special combs and brushes with lots of love to remove the released undercoat and leave the hair silky.

How long will a treatment last?

You may see a little shedding for the first 3-4 days as the little remaining undercoat continues to fall out. After the first few days, you will notice shedding has stopped or has greatly reduced for 4-6 weeks.

Are there any extra benefits?

Yes! Removing the undercoat allows more air circulation to your pet’s skin for the hot summer months without removing it’s protective barrier from the sun.

Is my pet a candidate?

Yes! Short, medium, and long-haired dogs and cats will benefit!

How much is it?

Our deshedding services start as low as $55. Call us today to find out more information and schedule your pet's appointment! (903)657-9212
